International staff can call for emergency assistance and speak to the required department at head office, or get routed automatically to whoever was on standby.
UK staff also used the service to report incidents in branch offices such as break-ins, computer theft etc..
The Callagenix service was more cost effective and operationally easier to manage than their in house PBX system.
